Ronny deCarlo is the moniker of Colombian-Dutch guitar wizard & producer Roenik Roa Espinosa

His brainchild, FONQUE NOUVEAU, is all about his sonic fingerprint, combining Ronny’s roots as a jazz & classically trained guitar player with the bombastic beat of Hip Hop and EDM, laced with retro-futuristic electronica and echoes of cinema blockbusters and videogames

In 2023, Ronny won The Records, a competition by the Keep an Eye Foundation. The prize of E10.000,-, came with a challenge: a physical album release in 12 months. The result is FONQUE NOUVEAU (2024), a self-titled debut, mixed by Wiboud Burkens and released in TivoliVredenburg under ZenneZ Records.

FONQUE NOUVEAU received raving reviews in among others Jazzism magazine, and earned a nomination for an Edison Award in ‘Newcomer Jazz’ category. Ronny’s second full-lenght “Fonque Nouveau II” is in the works and set to be released in 2026.
