ABOUT Ronny decarlo & FONQue Nouveau

Ronny deCarlo is the moniker of Colombian-Dutch guitar wizard & producer Roenik Roa Espinosa

His brainchild, FONQUE NOUVEAU, is about his sonic fingerprint, combining the adventure of fusion and instrumental guitar music with the bombastic beats of Hip Hop and EDM, layered with retro-futuristic electronica and echoes of cinema blockbusters and videogames

In 2023, Ronny won The Records, a competition by the Keep an Eye Foundation. The prize of E10.000,-, came with a challenge: a physical album release in 12 months. The result is FONQUE NOUVEAU (2024), a self-titled debut, mixed by Wiboud Burkens, mastered by Alex Geurink and released in TivoliVredenburg under ZenneZ Records.

FONQUE NOUVEAU received raving reviews in among others Jazzism magazine, and earned a nomination for an Edison Award in ‘Newcomer Jazz’ category. Ronny’s upcoming opus “FONQUE NOUVEAU II” is in the works and set to be released in 2026.
